Andrea Bonelli

I first stumbled upon Andrea Bonelli’s gorgeous designs on Etsy… shocking, no?;) I was instantly draw to her classic, hand-crafted designs. It took a little digging, but I was pleased to discover her regular website and some fabulous behind the scenes nuggets about this SF-based gal. I adore that she’s self-taught and approaches her gem and metal selection with an eco-conscious eye, and I would be lying if I didn’t admit being thoroughly wooed by her shopping blog, anything indie. So… take a peek, covet, buy, share with friends and repeat. You won’t be disappointed!

Happy Birthday Miss Lady

This is a short, sweet, darling little HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout out to my beloved friend Sanno Elena. I have known this fabulous gal since the day I was born. We’ve been through it all, this gal and I. From emptying full containers of baby powder onto my closet floor, to happily posing for our first day of school at NCS, to traveling to St. John, Malaysia and Thailand, to surviving the jungle that is NYC… we’ve been through thick and thin and I couldn’t ask for a better friend. So, Miss Lady… Happy Birthday to you! May your 34th year be even better than the rest, may it present a whole new range of possibility, and may the flights between SFO and PWM get cheaper;). I miss you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

King of Anything

I have to admit, this song appeals to my inner control freak;). While I don’t currently have someone in my life telling me what to do, I appreciate the sentiment and as a fan of Ms. Bareilles’ lovely pipes, I appreciate the delivery even more. I’m sure many of you have seen/heard this one already, but for those who haven’t, this is for you;).

my ‘right now’ old navy shopping spree

Yes yes… I know. Old Navy isn’t your typical ‘pinnacle’ of fashion. I would argue, however, that for a quick fix and some staples, it can do the trick. I’ve talked about this before, but here we are in a new season. The air is getting crisp, the leaves are turning red and orange and sunny days no longer top out at 80 degrees. If I were to jump on a budget conscious shopping spree today… right now… this is what I would buy. And just to drive my budget savvy point home, if I were to purchase everything you see below, I would spend a grand total of $482.96 (+shipping, of course). Seriously… for all this, that’s a full-on steal! I’m now slightly ashamed to admit that I’ve spent an equal amount on a single pair of boots. *sigh* So that’s where all my money went!!;)

top: pintucked top – $21.99, crochet-trimmed cami – $19.99, ruffled keyhole top – $24.50; middle: diva zip-pocket skinny jeans – $12.99, dart knee skinny jeans – $29.99, rock star super skinny denim leggings – $34.50; bottom: ruched v-neck tee – $10.00, applique jersey top – $17.50, tie-belt cardigan – $30.00

top: frost free fleece lined jacket – $59.50, ruffle collar wool blend jacket – $69.50, faux fur hooded anorak – $79.50; bottom: canvas slip-ons – $12.50, sliver-wedge boots – $44.50, studded faux leather ballet flats – $16.00

I’m back!!

A new home… a new season… I am SO sorry for that gigantic hiatus. It’s been hard to settle into some good quality time with this old old mac of mine. We’ve been moving and un-packing, job-hunting (me), raking leaves, and watching every weekly episode of our darling Dexter;). It’s a busy life, you see. I never meant to step away for this long, but here I am… hopeful for this new Fall season with loads of ideas to keep me busy and (hopefully) you entertained for the rest of the year.

Even with the move, J and I somehow managed to snag another lakeside spot. I’ve been pretty fortunate with my home views since moving to Maine, and this spot is no different. So we have a huge lawn full of leaves that need removal. So we’ll have lots of shoveling come first snowfall. So what?? Take a peek and a think you’ll agree it’s worth it!

hiatus

I’m shocked and honored to see that despite the obvious lack of recent posts, a few of you out there are still checking in! Aw shucks… and thanks:). My sincere apologies for disappearing. It’s been even busier in the past few weeks than I’d anticipated. A new job partnered with continuing freelance opportunities, a big move (this weekend, yikes!), house guests (yay!), a race that I’m not quite prepared for, and general continuing life changes. We all go through these times in our lives…   times of transition resulting in pure chaos… but we always pull through.

It may be another week or two until I’m able to pick up with regular posts again. I do have all sorts of stories just aching to be shared, so please come back and visit again soon:). Until then, be well and enjoy the beginning of Fall!

new shoes!!

Despite what you might be coaxed into believing by my many posts about shoes and boots and such, I haven’t actually bought a pair of new shoes in quite some time. I’ve been carefully considering what might be the most practical, yet stylish purchase that also wouldn’t break the bank. Take a peek at the beautiful lovelies pictured below;). More on TOMS and how much I love them next week.

For now, I’m rushing off with an old college friend (hi M:)) to see another old college friend (hi A:)). Good times. I’ll be back on my regular posting schedule next week with all sorts of updates about apple picking, homemade apple pies, statement necklaces, rings, and maybe some other fab slides to consider for this Fall. Till then…

classic stripes

Check out this stylin’ striped bag from forestbound on Etsy. Crafted from worn-in but sturdy thick striped ticking fabric salvaged from a 1940′s era mattress cover, this carry-all is both fashionable and eco-conscious. I love the pattern of the stripes and the slightly faded hue. A new satchel for Fall? Yes please.
