Alice as fashionista

I’ll admit it… I’ve fallen prey to the 3D frenzy that has recently taken over the film industry. I was a huge fan of Avatar (saw it twice!) and once I saw the preview for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, I had March 5th marked on my calendar. Thankfully, 2 sisters, 1 niece and 1 nephew are also 3D fans, so I had plenty of company!

All in all, I thought the movie was fabulous. A little dark at times, it was a visually exciting adaption of the Lewis Carroll classic. I’m a sucker for nearly anything that Johnny Depp touches, have a bit of a girl crush on Anne Hathaway, and have developed a new admiration for the young Australian actress Mia Wasikowska. Ms. Mia gave a stunningly beautiful performance as Alice, one which will most certainly throw her more swiftly into the public eye than her strong though maybe under-appreciated role in HBO’s In Treatment.

Shortly after checking out the movie, I ran across an article in Refinery29, calling out Mia’s newly pixie-d hair and drawing attention to her fashion spread in the latest issue of Teen Vogue. I ended up heading on over to Teen Vogue‘s site to look at a few more photos and am thoroughly impressed with the styling and generally with Mia’s look. Oh to be 21 again;).

I feel like a bit of a teeny-bopper in sharing these photos, but I wouldn’t do so if I didn’t find them to be absolutely stunning.

Couldn’t resist sharing this image with Mia and Anne… both of those dresses are simply *stunning*

  1. While I, too, looked forward to seeing Alice in Wonderland, I don’t think it needed to be in 3D to be visually stunning. For me…it didn’t add much more.

  2. Hi Melanie! I heard that from another friend as well and am curious to see it on a regular screen. I was so impressed with the visuals that I’m not surprised it translated just as well without the 3D. Are you a Johnny Depp fan as well? Thanks for reading!!
