please don’t stop the music

I’ll have to keep this intro brief, for if I start talking with you all about Jamie Cullum, I may never stop. I may get caught up in nostalgia, longing for days past, and could get lost in my memories. I was assigned to be marketing lead on Jamie Cullum’s first US release back in the summer of 2003. He was rapidly becoming a star in the UK and the US market seemed poised and ready. The album was slated for release in 2004 and we were charged with preparing the market for Jamie. I was 25, driven, and hungry for success. I suppose it didn’t hurt that I was as romanced by the music and Jamie’s stellar on-stage performances as everyone else. I worked with Jamie’s fantastic team from that very first day, right up through my departure around the end of 2006. I miss them!

Today’s video highlights the über-talented Mr. Jamie Cullum… In honor of both his latest release and also what promises to be an outstanding weekend at the Newport Jazz Festival. If you’ve got tickets, you’re among the lucky. Enjoy!
