Turtle Love Co.

If you’ve been wondering about that little badge on the right that marks me as a Vintage Style Council member, this post is for you!!

I’ve long admired local jewelry company, Turtle Love Co. Based in Portland, ME, the company heralds the independent and the vintage, two things that appeal to my old boutique sensibilities (If you’re a new follower and unfamiliar with Clarabella… just ask. I love talking about it!!) I first met TLC head honcho, Adrianne, while I was still working with emilie inc. We got together a few times to talk shop and after a wonderful brainstorming session that led to even more discussion back at the TLC headquarters, the Vintage Style Council was born. We are a lovely collection of bloggers — a few design mavens, a few fashionistas, a few culinary goddesses — all with our own unique voices brought together in support of this awesome little company.

I’ve created two Pinterest boards inspired by pieces in TLC’s vintage collection. They’ve both been featured on the TLC blog and I hope you’ll take a moment to check them out! Makes for some fabulous afternoon browsing;).

Etsy :: Vintage Home Recycled

As I’ve been a little lax on my posting as of late, it seems I left my darling Etsy finds behind! I thought now was as good a time as any to get it all rolling again. I found this charming little vintage shop, based in Windham, ME of all places! Just imagine, somewhere on my daily commute lies this mecca for things of days past. The owner sounds like a complete doll, so make sure to check out her about page. And if you’re enthralled by antique housewares like I am, make sure to check out her full site in addition to the little gems I’ve shared with you here. Happy antiquing!!

Etsy :: Two Little Owls Vintage

Continuing on with my kitchen themed Etsy discoveries… meet Two Little Owls Vintage. Sure, she has more than just kitchen stuff, but her collection of tea cups, pitchers, and glasses makes me a little giddy. I may need to get one of those fabulous old curios with the glass doors to store all of this marvelous stuff that I want to buy;). A little irrational, maybe, and I’m not sure J would approve, but I’ll work on it!

The owner of this little shop is based in Westbrook, ME. A quick peek at her bio tells me that she is a mom, loves Maine summers, gardening, photography, reading, baking, home renovation and most importantly vintage. [hello Ms. Two Little Owls Vintage – we would most certainly get along!!]

I hope you’ll take a peek at my picks below and also head on over to her shop to see what other treats she has to offer. Lovely indeed;)

Etsy :: Red Eye Vintage

I wish I could tell you more about this next Portland-based Etsy shop. All of my searches for info on RedEyeVintage have come up short. According to the about page, they love coffee. And pigeons. Sounds like they might have loved NYC as well;).

Though I’m lacking in info, I’m not lacking in links to fabulous vintage finds. In a few months, I’ll have an opportunity to outfit a new home (rented, but still). Here’s hoping some of these are still around!!
